NetGames 2006

5th Workshop on Network & System Support for Games 2006

30-31 October 2006, Singapore

The field of network game and entertainment has aroused great interest among researchers and developers in both academic and industrial fields as it is duly recognized as being very promising in bringing on new exciting characters to computer games and attracting more and more players. For example, next generation console gaming platform such as Xbox 360 by Microsoft and Playstation 3 by Sony have the ability to allow users to play network games. Also, the undeniable attraction of online role-playing games (RPG) has attracted increasing number of gamers every year.

The purpose of NetGames 2006 is to bring together researchers and developers from academic and industry to share ideas and present new research in understanding networked games and entertainment and in enabling the next generation of online games.

The conference is organised by Interaction and Entertainment Research Centre
(Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) and the Association of Computer Machinery-Computer Human Interaction (Singapore) in co-operation with ACM SIGCOMM.

This year's workshop will held in Singapore. Located in the heart of fascinating Southeast Asia, Singapore is a dynamic city rich in contrast and color where you'll find a harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture. As a thriving center of commerce and industry, Singapore has the busiest port in the world. Brimming with unbridled energy and bursting with exciting events, the city offers countless unique, memorable experience waiting to be discovered.

Prospective authors are now invited to submit papers and extended abstracts describing research related to networked games and entertainment on all platforms via the conference website, http://www.netgames2006.org <http://www.netgames2006.org/> . Submission Deadline: July 15, 2006.

ACM, the world's leading computer science society, will be publishing all accepted papers.

Submissions are sought in any area related to networked games and entertainment. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
