I think it is more likely to be beneficial, given that it is (they are)
used as the ingress and egress to the rest of the LAN (ie, connecting
bridged segment to the rest of the LAN). But of course, if there is
heavy traffic local to the bridged segment (below RB(s)), then all the
bets are off. 

I think it can be a good default choice, that can be overridden by
manual config or any other dynamic mechanism (if there is any).
