Jon,<br><br>I had the same thoughts when reading this year's Sigcomm paper "Taming the Torrent". The paper actually is not related to your comment here, but it made one wondering...<br><br>It's obvious that there is a big hole when it comes to mapping the users who roam in the network and the content that sits somewhere and can get replicated to else where by someone at some time.<br>
<br>There seems to be many problems and ideas floating around. It may be a lookup issue whereby CDN-like DNS redirect may solve the problem or perhaps DHT. It may also be a network resource management issue... It may also be a YouTube problem. ;-)<br>
<br>Not sure we will get into philosophy debate, but this has strong implication in business. <br><br>So before we start to offer solutions, maybe we should try to fully understand the problem first.<br><br>2 cents,<br><br>
